Who are we?
The B Team consists of three members: Brian Bates, Dan Beland, and David Bright. We’re a group of fun-loving programmers who collectively have a great deal of experience in various programming languages and techniques, technical writing skills and soft skills. The sponsor we successfully competed for is Reboot Consulting, a reputable local IT company.
Reboot Consulting wishes to implement a revolutionary content management system called rSEOCMS (Reboot Search Engine Optimized Content Management System). This new CMS has been designed with not only the system users in mind, but to cater to the search engines by displaying websites for maximum exposure.
What are we doing?
We are responsible for contributing 3 portions of code, or ‘modules’, to rSEOCMS: an Access Log Module, a Settings Manager module and a Page Permissions framework. The Access Log Module will provide a function to the administrator of the application to view a searchable log of all system activity regarding logins and logouts on the system. The Settings Manager module will allow the end user to customize application settings to tailor the application to their business needs. The Page Permissions framework will provide functionality to assign pages to individual users without giving them access to edit all pages within the system.
Our aspirations…
We hope that Reboot Consulting will acquire a well written, well documented web application that they will be proud to sell to clients. We hope that this experience has been as rewarding for them as it has been for us, and we hope that this will be a start of a partnership between Reboot Consulting and Camosun College.
