Abstract: Strongbacks.com is an online job search community intended to link laborers looking for work with employers in need of skilled labor. Critical requirements of this project include personalization (the site will "remember" visitors), a searchable database of job postings, the ability to establish user profiles, an interface easy for the target audience to use, and management interfaces to allow non-technical staff the ability to perform basic administration. The goal of this project is to explore some of the latest web technologies and development processes while creating a useful web site that will be suitable for use as a reference / portfolio tem by both the project team and Sage Internet Solutions Ltd. The site is intended for deployment to a Win2K web server, and so is developed for IIS 5.0, JSP and SQL. |
