Check Bit
Introduction
The three resurrectionists of Check Bit, Devinder, Cayenne, and Desmond, are working with the BCAWA Wine Judges to revive a 30-year-old wine competition system. To bring this system back to life, our team first audited the existing system to extract requirements for the new website. We then created designs for the common pages and key components. After determining what functionality from the previous site our clients wanted to keep, we reproduced those pages using our updated designs. Then we addressed the client's further functionality wishes, namely removing manual database operations and addressing security concerns. We also incidentally learned a lot about the complex Moneyball-esque world of wine judging.

BCAWA Wine Judges have been supporting community wine events for 30-years and deserve a system upgrade so they can pass on the passion. We would like to thank them for trusting us to revive their system.
Team Members
Devinder Dhiman
Devinder's greatest strength is that she is unafraid to seek help from others. During the project, she turned teachers, teammates, and even bystanders into mentors. Devinder was initially drawn to ICS because of her interest in video games and has since developed a love of research.
Cayenne McPayne
Cayenne's greatest strength is that she takes action. During the project, she built quick solutions that added rocket fuel to development. Cayenne was drawn to ICS because she wanted to help people with computers and has since developed a love of breaking complex systems into components which support reuse.
Desmond Wilkinson
Desmond's greatest strength is that they seek to explore and understand a problem before solving it. During the project, they acted as an oracle, suggesting possible development paths while warning of potential pitfalls. Desmond was drawn to ICS because of their love of coding and now enjoys entertaining complex problems.
